Metamorphic rocks make large part of the Earths crust. They may be formed deep beanth the earths surface, subjected to high temperature as well as the rock layers above it. They can form from tectonic plate collisions and form when rock is heated up the intrusion of hot molten rock called magma. Metamorphic rocks has provided additional infomration about the temperatures that occur at great depths within the earts crust
